Minnesota has once again played a prominent part of the NHL draft.

Fifteen natives of the State of Hockey had their names called in Philadelphia this weekend.

Four Gophers were selected, all incoming freshman: defenseman Ryan Collins in the second round, defenseman Jack Glover in the third round, defenseman Steve Johnson in the fourth round and forward Jack Ramsey in the seventh round.

Ramsey is the son of former Gophers and Team USA star and Wild assistant coach Mike Ramsey.

Tyler Nanne and Miguel Fidler of state Class 2A champion Edina went with back-to-back picks in the fifth round.

As for the Wild, they drafted four forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender. They took three Canadians, two Americans and one player each from Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic.
