Minnesota Gophers running back Shannon Brooks has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic assault.

The Star Tribune reports the 22-year-old senior was arrested at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Minneapolis and was booked into the Hennepin County jail about an hour later.

Police say the arrest occurred on the same block near campus where Brooks lives. Head coach P.J. Fleck says he was not able to comment on the arrest.
