GOP Senator Says Bipartisan Effort Needed To Get Good Infrastructure Bill Passed

President Joe Biden’s American Jobs Act is being termed as an Infrastructure bill but includes several components other than roads, bridges or locks and dams. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says not enough is being spent in the measure for actual infrastructure needs such as roads, bridges and inland waterway projects..

He says a good infrastructure bill must include funding that lasts for several years.

Grassley says what GOP Senators need to do is work with their Democrat colleagues to reach bi-partisan consensus and pass an infrastructure measure that leaves out all the extraneous components the Biden bill has.

Grassley says three quarters of the American Jobs Act has funding in it for things not considered general infrastructure such as Medicaid.
