GOP Retreats On DHS Funding

Republicans in Congress had to retreat a bit, and pass a so called “clean” funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats in the Senate refused to debate a bill that attempted to roll back immigration reforms imposed by President Obama.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says they ran into several roadblocks…

Thune says they could not get to a conference committee on the House bill…

Thune says they plan to move on and look for cooperation where they can find it…

The bill passed by Congress will fund the Department though the end of September.
