A Republican plan to improve elder and vulnerable adult care in Minnesota is making its way through the State Capitol. Eric Linn testified before a key committee that his family’s experience getting proper care for his mother–who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease–was a “nightmare.”
The bill calls for more oversight and strict abuse prevention measures, like electronic monitoring. Lawmakers and Governor Dayton say preventing elder abuse is a priority this session in the wake of reports of rampant abuse in care centers statewide.
