Farmers have been able to catch up with their spring planting.  Many farmers across the region have been in the fields this past week, and some have reported they have already finished this year’s planting.  Jeff Frank farms in Sac County, Iowa.

Chuck White farms in Clay County, Iowa and says he has completed his corn planting.

According to the USDA, the weekly crop progress report shows Iowa farmers have planted 70 percent of the state’s corn crop with six percent emergence.  49 percent of the state’s soybean crop has now been planted.
