Glacial Lakes Energy and its four biorefineries have joined a partnership with Summit Carbon Solutions. Glacial Lakes CEO Jim Seurer says it’s an exciting and large project where Summit has partnered with biorefineries throughout the upper Midwest to capture, transport and store carbon dioxide underground.

He says being part of this project will help them reduce their carbon footprint by 40 to 50 percent.

Seurer says their gallon contribution represents about 18 percent of the total project and fits in well with what they’re already doing.

Summit’s total project will result in annual reduction of 10 million tons of carbon dioxide or the carbon footprint equivalent of 2 million automobiles.
