Instead of buying your loved one chocolates and a bouquet of roses this Valentine’s Day, Feeding South Dakota is asking to instead give a gift in their honor that will help feed a hungry child. Kerri DeGraff is the development director for Feeding South Dakota and says the “Share Your Love” promotion is a way to celebrate the holiday and help fight hunger.
This is the second year for the promotion, with almost $5400 dollars raised, which was enough to support 90 kids in the BackPack Program receive weekend food packages for the rest of the school year. DeGraff says any South Dakotan can have a card delivered.
DeGraff says the $60 donation is enough for one student in BackPack Program to have food each weekend through the end of the semester. Anyone interested in more information or to make a donation is welcome to call or visit Feeding South Dakota dot org.
