Groundbreaking was held Thursday on what’s being billed as the largest economic investment in South Dakota.
Gevo will be a world-class sustainable fuel production facility in Lake Preston.
Their facility will create 1,000 jobs during construction and 90 long-term, high-paying jobs. The new facility is the first billion-dollar plus project in the history of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
The facility will use regionally grown corn as its feedstock, which will be turned into gas, jet fuel and diesel fuel.
Lieutenant Governor Larry Rhoden was in Lake Preston for the groundbreaking…
Gevo will also be supporting two Build Dakota Scholarships for students at Lake Area Technical College in Watertown.
