The spillway gates at Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River will open as the Corps of Engineers starts scheduled work inside the power house.
Dave Becker, Operations Manager for the Corps at Gavins Point, says they will shut down two of their three power turbines….

He says flows will stay the same, at about eighteen thousand cubic feet per second.
Becker says these upgrades have been planned for quite some time…..

Becker says they also plan to re-work the cooling water system in the power house…..

Becker says they hope to have all the repairs finished by late this year.
