After several hours of public input and debate, the interim High School Activities Committee of the South Dakota Legislature voted to have a bill written that would determine gender policy for the state’s schools.

Representative Jim Bolin of Canton says it is not a decision that should be left to the activities association…

Representative Tona Rozum of Mitchell says the legislature should rely on school officials that deal with the issue…

 

The committee voted six to five to proceed with a bill for the 2016 legislature.
