Gender Issues Expected Back in the 2017 SD Legislature

It appears likely that more bills dealing with trans-gender students will be back before South Dakota legislators next year. Governor Dennis Daugaard vetoed a bill that would have forced students to use only facilities that matched the gender on their birth certificate.

Wade Pogany, Executive Director of the Associated School Boards of South Dakota, says schools can handle those issues individually…………

Pogany says this should not be a political issue…..

Supporters of the bill said it would be expensive for many small schools to add extra locker and restrooms.
