The South Dakota School Finance Accountability Board has been hearing from school districts that missed teacher pay guidelines, and violated state law.
Gayville-Volin was one of the districts outside the rules.
Superintendent Jason Selchert says they missed one of the standards…
Selchert says they had one teacher whose certification had expired……
Selchert says they did come back into compliance…..
The board found that the district did violate the standard, but was granted an unconditional waiver.
Some districts have been ordered to reopen teacher negotiations to come back in compliance.
