Gay Marriage Debate Continues In Nebraska

A federal lawsuit has been filed by seven same-sex couples against the Nebraska definition of marriage.
Nebraska ACLU Legal Counsel Amy Miller says the time is right to overturn the ban on same-sex marriage, which she contends should never have been put to a vote in the first place. . .

But, Governor-elect Pete Ricketts says the state retains the right to define marriage. . .

Voters approved the law in 2000. The ACLU challenged it in 2003 and a federal judge agreed with it. But, a three-judge appellate panel overruled that judge.
