The Corps of Engineers says outflows from Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River near Yankton will continue to drop but flooding downstream won’t drop for some time.

The Corps said most levees have failed from Omaha downstream into Missouri and Kansas causing widespread flooding. The river set an all time high just over forty feet at Plattsmouth, about four feet higher than the old record.
