Repair work continues on Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River near Yankton. A project has been underway to renovate the spillway gates, and that has led the road over the dam to be closed at times.
Gavins Point Operations Manager Dave Becker says the outside work has been scaled back for the winter.
Becker says the outside project will pick up again in the spring.
Some of the repair is due to the pounding the dam took during the flood of 2011.
Becker says all of the spillway gates will get some work.
The transformer yard adjacent to the powerhouse was also updated in the last year as part of the multi-million dollar project.
