Nebraska’s gasoline prices are the lowest they’ve been in August in six years. The average price statewide is now $2.69 a gallon and prices have been dropping daily for almost three weeks straight. Gail Weinholzer, at Triple-A-Nebraska, says indications are, prices will continue falling for the next several weeks, perhaps the next several months.
Weinholzer says gas prices will likely continue slipping as long as two things remain constant.
The Triple-A survey finds Nebraska’s most expensive gas is being sold in Kearney, averaging $2.94 a gallon, while the state’s cheapest gas can be found in Norfolk, averaging $2.60. Nebraska’s highest-ever gas prices were recorded in July of 2008 when the statewide average reached $4.10 a gallon.
