A recently released Government Accountability Office or GAO report looking at unauthorized grazing on public lands shows no major problems. That’s according to Public Lands Council Executive Director Ethan Lane. He says most of the grazing management problems need to be handled locally.

He says the informal local approach has worked well in managing public lands grazing.

Lane also says local grazing management lowers the cost and federal red tape that bogs down grazing efforts.

Lane says the GAO report is a vindication of what is currently happening on the nation’s public grazing lands.
