The Natural Resources Conservation Service is making $332 million available for financial and technical assistance through the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program. South Dakota NRCS ACEP Coordinator Ben Bigalke says while South Dakota’s share of that allotment is just over $7 million, the state still fared well compared to other states for that aid.
Bigalke says his office is now accepting ACEP applications and those interested have until May 15 to submit those.
He says ACEP has been a popular program in the past in South Dakota with wetlands the major part of that sign up. He urges those interested in applying for ACEP to stop by their local county NRCS office.
