With the large influx of one-time dollars into South Dakota’s state budget, legislators are spending much of their time working on funding for various projects important to agriculture. South Dakota Farm Bureau lobbyist Matt Bogue says there are many funding measures that will benefit not just farmers and ranchers, but all South Dakotans.
He says they have signed on with other farm group to endorse a funding proposal for upgrades at the Cottonwood Research Station at South Dakota State University.
And Bogue says they’re also supporting an ag cybersecurity collaboration between SDSU and Dakota State University.
Bogue became South Dakota Farm Bureau’s new lobbyist this year and will be replacing long-time lobbyist Mike Held.
