Temporary federal funding for community health centers expires in early March.
The Health Center Association of Nebraska reports that totals about $13.2 million for healthcare at the seven facilities in the state.
CEO Amy Behnke says the money helps cover the cost of caring for uninsured patients.

Kenny McMorris is CEO of Charles Drew Health Center in Omaha.
He says a reduction in care at centers due to funding cuts will put the burden on hospitals.

Nebraska’s community health centers serve more than 75,000 patients each year.
