Funding for Cedar-Knox Rural Water Vetoed

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen vetoed a bill that would have provided seven million dollars for the Cedar-Knox Rural Water System.
District 40 Senator Barry DeKay of Niobrara says the system has to come up with a plan for future water supplies….

DeKay says they are looking at wells in the Aten area, or possibly buying water from the City of Yankton.

He says there will be future attempts at state funding….

DeKay says he talked to the Governor about the need for water in the area…..

DeKay says the state has money set aside for projects like this.
