Fuel Rule Exemption Needed

Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer is proposing an E-P-A rule exemption for farms and ranches with fuel storage tanks.
It has to do with the long-standing Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure rule – or S-P-C-C.
The E-P-A wants that to apply to above ground storage tanks that hold more than 1,320 gallons.
Fischer says her bill would provide special protection for smaller farms and ranches.

Fischer says the 1320 limit would be too much of a burden for smaller operations.

Fischer says legislation she is proposing would raise the capacity threshold to more than ten-thousand gallons before the rule applies.
