Farmers, ranchers, and other landowners are encouraged to sign-up for the U-S-D-A Grassland Conservation Reserve Program.  Bobbi Kriz-Wickham serves as the Public Affairs and Outreach Coordinator for the Nebraska Farm Services Agency.  She says the program provides an unique opportunity to keep their land in agricultural production and still able to supplement their income while improving their soils and permanent grass cover.

Kriz-Wickham says landowners have an option for the duration of the contract.

The F-S-A official suggests farmers speak with their county F-S-A office staff to learn how the program may be customized for their individual purposes.

Kriz-Wickham talks about the minimum payment rate for acres enrolled in the grassland C-R-P.

Sign-up will begin on Monday and continue through May 13th.
