South Dakota Farm Service Agency along with the State Farmers Union have been holding meetings across the state to help inform producers about the new Farm Bill and program options for them. Tuesday, one such meeting was held in Yankton. Yankton and Bon Homme County FSA Executive Director David Charles says farmers are having to choose between the ARC and PLC program and they have many questions.
Charles says so far it differs as to which program ARC or PLC that area farmers prefer and many are holding off on making that final decision.
Charles says they have information available on their USDA web site and you can just click on the ARC PLC link. He says he’ll have more farm bill meetings following harvest.
