USDA’s Farm Service Agency just recently completed a general Conservation Reserve Program Sign Up. FSA Administrator Richard Fordyce says it was their first general enrollment since 2016 and during the sign up period, over 3.4 million acres were accepted into the program. While the enrollment acceptances were fairly large in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota with 97 percent, 88 percent and 78 percent respectively, the national acceptance rate was also large.

He says those interested in CRP can also enroll in the continuous signup program.

Fordyce says they also have a pilot sign-up program called SHIPP in the Prairie Pothole region of South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Montana. That started on Monday and runs until August 21.

He also says their CRP Grassland program signup deadline is May 15th.
