Freeman School District Heads to Opt Out Election

Voters in the Freeman (SD) School district will go to the polls on August 29th to decide on a six hundred-thousand-dollar property tax opt out.
Superintendent Kevin Kunz (coons) says they have gone through the upcoming budget, and made cuts……

Kunz says they also made some adjustments in administrators….

Kunz says without the opt out, they would have to make more major decisions in the next few years…..

Due to a drop in enrollment, and other factors, the school district has seen a loss of over one point one million dollars in the last four years.
