Freeman Public School Opt Out Passes

Voters in the Freeman school district this week narrowly approved a five year, six hundred-thousand-dollar property tax opt out. The opt out passed on a margin of 366 to 342, with turnout of about forty percent.

Freeman Public Superintendent Kevin Kunz says they took a lot of time explaining their financial situation…..

Kunz says the funding helps them hang on to their current educational programs…..

Kunz says they are listening to the people in their district….

Kunz says declining enrollment over the last ten years has been a major cause of their budget problems.
