Another South Dakota high school football program has run into trouble because of dwindling numbers.
Freeman’s Public School Board has voted to vacate the 2015 and 2016 football schedule because just ten players reported for the first practice. The Freeman Courier reported the action taken at Monday’s meeting.
Just last week the South Dakota High School Activities Association granted a special request for Highmore-Harrold to join Miller for this football season in lieu of skipping the season.
Freeman was scheduled to open the season August 28 against Irene-Wakonda.
