It looks like a four way race for the District 40 Senate seat in northeast Nebraska.

Robert Johnston of Clearwater is the latest to file for the soon to be open seat..

Johnston says rising property taxes is the major issue for all rural Senators….

Johnston says there is a lot of work to do before the May 10th primary….

Other candidates in the race include Keith Kube of Crofton, Barry DeKay of Niobrara and Mark Patefield of Laurel. The top two vote getters in the May election will advance to the November general election.
