Four state senators have challenged the University of Nebraska, questioning whether the university has a bias against conservative students.

University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds says some of the criticism implied in the questions is off-base, such as questioning why the English Department would emphasize its core values, such as fostering a sense of belonging. . .

University of Nebraska – Lincoln Chancellor Ronnie Green says campuses across the country are debating how to balance freedom and civility. . .

The senators say they raised the questions after a conservative student was harassed by a graduate student on the Lincoln campus. Both Bounds and Green say that matter has been investigated and dealt with.
