The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation has selected Becky Streff for the 2021 Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year Honor. Foundation Executive Director Megahan Schafer says the award is given to outstanding teachers that incorporate agriculture into their classroom through innovative ideas and lessons.

She says this past year has been a challenging one for teachers dealing with the pandemic and virtual classes and that the Foundation has done what they can to assist educators.

Schafer says their AG PEN PAL program is now in it’s 30th year and it’s where they team up a Nebraska farmer or rancher with teachers and students. She says Streff has incorporated AG PEN Pal into her classroom.

Streff has been teaching for 16 years the past 13 at North Bend Central Elementary in Dodge County.
