Former Senate Candidate Pushing Reform in SD Politics

Former U-S Senate candidate Rick Weiland brought his message of changing how government works to Huron this week….

Weiland and his Take It Back dot-org group are focused on three main issues one of which is a nonpartisan redistricting commission….

His group also wants non-partisan elections similar to Nebraska’s unicameral legislature…

The third part of what Weiland calls his “Trifecta of Reform” is an anti-corruption, government accountability statute that would establish and ethics commission…

Some of those other things include campaign finance reform in South Dakota and restrictions on lobbyists. The issues supported by Take It Back dot-org include Amendments T and V and Measure 22 on the November election ballot.
