All U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset Tuesday in honor of former Governor Charles Thone who died at age 94. Former Nebraska U.S. Congressman and Omaha Mayor Hal Daub remembers Thone, and says he served the people of Nebraska well.
Daub says his term took place when the economy soured and the farm crisis started. Daub says those were difficult issues for Thone to deal with.
Thone was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1970 serving Nebraska’s 1st District. Thone served four terms. He was elected governor
