South Dakota men’s basketball coach Craig Smith has announced that Nick Fuller, a 6-foot-7 forward who previously spent four seasons with the University of Nebraska basketball team, will join the Coyotes as a graduate transfer for the 2017-18 campaign.
The move reunites Fuller with Smith, who recruited Fuller while serving as an assistant coach at Nebraska from 2012-14. Fuller redshirted at Nebraska during the 2013-14 academic year, and has competed in 55 games for the Huskers during the last three seasons. He totaled 85 minutes in 15 games this past season, and finished the year with 17 points and 17 rebounds.
Fuller, a three-time academic all-Big Ten honoree, is expected to graduate next month with a degree in management. Prior to attending Nebraska, Fuller was a four-year starter at Sun Prairie High School in his hometown of Sun Prairie, Wis., where he shattered the Big Eight Conference scoring record with 1,940 points. Fuller was rated as one of the top 150 high school players in the country and was a consensus three-star recruit.
