Former Ag Secretaries Ask For Passage Of TPP

A bi partisan group of 7 former Secretaries of Agriculture have written Congress urging them to pass the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement. One of those is John Block. He says because American agriculture exports close to a third or 25 percent of its products, the TPP will benefit our farmers and ranchers.

Block says it’s important Congress move quickly on TPP approval.

He says waiting until after the election could doom the agreement as the two current Presidential frontrunners oppose it.

Also signing onto the letter are former Ag Secretaries, Clayton Yeutter, Mike Espy, Dan Glickman, Ann Veneman, Mike Johanns and Ed Schafer.
