A former Green Peace activist who once opposed biotechnology gave the keynote address to Iowa Farm Bureau members at their annual meeting last week. State Farm Bureau President Craig Hill says Mark Lynas told the group once he had studied biotechnology and considered the science it changed his mind and he now backs it.
Hill says there isn’t a need for labeling of biotech products because science has proved they’re safe.
Lynas now works at Cornell University’s office of International Programs and is helping with a project focused on creating more public and about dialogue about the science behind technology.
