The University of Nebraska Food Processing Center in Lincoln has formed a partnership with the Alliance for Advanced Sanitation. Director Angela Annadappa says their goal is make sure that all foods eaten are clean and safe.

Annadappa says they are concentrating on food safety from the farm to the plate.

Annadappa says they are researching cleaning methods and developing better ways to do so. They are also looking for ways to detect potential problems using DNA. Private member companies fund this program and they include Kellogg’s, ConAgra and Cargill.
