Nebraska Pork Producers Association Past President Scott Spilker is in Washington DC this week at the National Pork Producers Council’s Fly In. He says the major concern they’re talking to lawmakers about is trade and making sure we give our global customers certainty rather than throwing out rhetoric from our administration.

He says the other priority measure they’re asking lawmakers to address is to provide funding for a foot and mouth disease vaccine bank.

Spilker says another concern they’re bringing up to Congress is the need to pass some type of immigration reform legislation.

NPPC’s two day Fly In began Wednesday and wraps up today. Close to 140 producers are attending.
