Flu season has already arrived in Nebraska, earlier than normal.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Tom Safranek says though it has come earlier than normal, there is no indication it will be harsher than normal. . .

One of the deaths was recorded by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department; the other reported by the North Central District Health Department.

Safranek says state health officials are watching the flu closely. . .

Safranek says anyone older than six should get a flu shot. Also, he urges Nebraskans to ear healthy and get plenty of rest as well as to wash their hands frequently.
