Much of the northern plains may have avoided another year of flooding…..so far.

Dennis Todey with the USDA’s Midwest Climate Hub (in Ames Iowa) says a slow warm up has helped decrease the risk….

Todey says heavy rain could cause problems in a hurry…

Todey says while they can’t predict another bomb cyclone, heavy spring rains while not likely are always possible….

Todey says soils are still saturated across the region which is another factor in any possible flooding.
