Flood Damage Lingering

Wide areas of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota were flooded last month as a result of heavy rain falling on frozen ground.

While the water is receding, there will be damage left behind.
Dennis Todey at the Midwest Climate Hub (in Ames Iowa) says many farm fields may not get planted this spring….

Todey says many of those fields will have damage from the flooding…

Todey says there was also damage from an unexpected source…

Todey says all of that is beyond the damages to roads, bridges and culverts that will take time to repair.
