Firearms Deer Season Brings Testing for Chronic Wasting Disease

Minnesota DNR staff were kept busy this past weekend testing deer for Chronic Wasting Disease during the opener of the firearms deer season. Sibley State Park Wildlife Specialist Jeff Miller says from what he’s heard, hunter success was spotty

 

The Minnesota Firearms Deer Season is nine days long and wraps up next Sunday.  The mandatory CWD testing was only for the first two days of the season, those results should be available in the next day or so.
