Senator Michaela Cavanaugh of Omaha is three weeks into a pledge to filibuster every bill that comes to the floor of the Nebraska Unicameral. She is protesting an attempt to pass a bill that would outlaw gender affirming care for those 18 and younger.

District 40 Senator Barry DeKay of Niobrara says other bills are also logjammed….

DeKay says the filibuster is burning up legislative days….

The session is now past the halfway point, and no bill has yet passed through the legislative process.
