Offensive player of the year Ezekiel Elliott heads a list of seven Ohio State players voted to the first team of The Associated Press All-Big Ten team.
Penn State’s Carl Nassib is defensive player of the year on the team released Tuesday, and Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers is newcomer of the year. Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz was an overwhelming choice as coach of the year.
Elliott and Michigan State’s Aaron Burbridge were the only players listed on the first team on every ballot turned in by media representatives who cover the conference.
Ferentz, who’ll finish his 17th season as Iowa’s head coach in the Rose Bowl against Stanford, led the Hawkeyes to a 12-0 regular-season record for the most wins in program history. That was a five-win improvement over 2014.
