The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved two pipeline tariff amendments aimed at boosting propane supplies to the Midwest. Iowa Propane and Gas Association CEO Deb Grooms says she attended a meeting in Washington D.C. in November where FERC approved a measure allowing temporary propane supplies. She says this latest ruling will help provide adequate propane to Iowa’s customers.

She says there will be more supplies of propane with FERC’s ruling. Plus, an extension of an emergency waiver was granted regionally which will help with transportation of the product.

Grooms says most of the harvest is done in Iowa. However, any additional propane supplies for drying crops is now available, along with supplies to help heat homes and livestock barns.
