The Federal Emergency Management Agency is redrawing flood risk maps for much of the region.
Yankton County Commissioners talked about that process at their meeting this week.

Commission Chair Cheri Loest says there could be some big changes..

Loest says the public will have a chance to comment on the process..

Loest says while it will take a while, anyone thinking about development or construction should check in on the process..

Many of the preliminary maps expand the so called one hundred year flood plain.
