The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved three point four million dollars for repairs to the Marne Creek floodway in Yankton following damages from flooding in March of 2019.

City Manager Amy Leon says its been a long process…..

FEMA funding will cover seventy five percent of the project with the city and state covering the rest. Leon says they are working on that payment plan…..

Leon says they are hoping to see some work on the floodway and trail this winter into next spring….

The flooding caused major erosion to the banks of the lower parts of the creek and washed out the adjacent trail.
