Iowa’s 4th District Congressman Republican Randy Feenstra voted to override President Biden’s veto on the Waters of the United States, or WOTUS rule on Tuesday. Feenstra says “President Biden’s veto of a bipartisan resolution to overturn his costly and invasive WOTUS rule represents another example of his callous disregard for rural America.”
U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa says an attempt to override the president’s veto is the right thing to do, however, he doesn’t believe there is enough wide support to be able to override the veto. Grassley says the nation will have to rely on judges’ injunctions like that with the recent action of the North Dakota federal district judge.
The congressional vote failed to get a two-thirds majority. The vote was 227 in favor of the veto override, and 196 against the measure to override the veto.
