Last week, a North Dakota federal district judge placed an injunction on the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations on the Waters of the United States, or WOTUS. The injunction applied to 24 states, and many agricultural organizations were pleased with the ruling saying the EPA’s passed a bi-partisan resolution that called for the Biden administration and the EPA to abolish the regulations. However, President Biden had vetoed that resolution. Iowa’s 4th District U-S Congressman Randy Feenstra is pleased with the court ordered injunction, but he says Congress needs to finish the job.
Feenstra says Congress may have to include the new WOTUS injunction ruling as part of the new farm bill legislation.
The Iowa Republican is hopeful enough members of Congress will vote to override President Biden’s veto on the measure.
